For this project, Earli wanted us to create an animation that would effectively communicate the scientific foundation of their technology. The animation was intended for corporate communications, investor relations, and fundraising presentations. The goal was to illustrate how their system leverages dysregulated transcription factors in cancer cells to selectively activate genetic constructs, enabling precise tumor detection and potential targeted therapeutic effects. This platform allows for either the destruction of cancer cells or their marking via radiotracers, making them visible for further intervention.

"It doesn't happen every day that you find a new partner who is simply good. The Team is able to turn a scientific briefing into impressive 3D animations that are scientifically accurate. This team also doesn't shy away from hard work, and most impressively, they take feedback on the work very well as they go along, and turn it into action. This team gets our strong recommendation."

Find out which of our 26 scientific animation options works best for investor relations and communications:

The primary challenge was balancing scientific accuracy with visual clarity. Given the complexity of gene regulation and selective expression, the animation needed to communicate molecular interactions with high precision while remaining accessible to a broad audience. To achieve this, the following techniques were employed:

High-End 3D Animation Pipeline: Integrated scientifically validated molecular structures and simulations to ensure accuracy in modeling key molecular interactions.

Depth-of-Field Effects: Blurred and darkened less relevant elements to enhance focus on essential molecular structures.

Environmental Simplification: Reduced background complexity to maintain attention on key molecular components.

CT-Style Tumor Localization: One of the client’s key requests was an accurate visualization of cancer localization as seen in CT scans post-treatment. Because no existing assets met this requirement, Visual Science developed a scientifically accurate, high-precision 3D style based on medical imaging data provided by the client.

Why did we use this
animation type?

A high-end 3D animation was the optimal choice because it enabled a clear, scientifically rigorous visualization of how Earli’s gene therapy technology selectively targets cancer cells. By combining detailed molecular modeling with strategic visual simplifications, the animation allows both scientific experts and business stakeholders to easily understand the technology’s mechanism. While maintaining a high level of scientific accuracy, the team ensured visual accessibility by carefully managing background depth, shading, and lighting to eliminate distractions and keep the focus on key processes.
