The goal of this project was to develop a clear, scientifically accurate MoA animation showing how IL-13 drives type 2 inflammation and how zumilokibart interrupts this pathway. The animation translated complex signaling, receptor interactions, and antibody recycling into a concise, structured narrative for clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders, while highlighting both mechanism and therapeutic durability.

We began by studying the IL-13 signaling pathway and the mechanism of action of zumilokibart, developing an initial script that translated cytokine-driven inflammation, receptor interactions, and antibody engineering into a clear visual narrative. After aligning with the client and incorporating feedback, we moved into production following a structured pipeline from storyboards to animatics and final renders, with Visual Science leading execution while the client reviewed key milestones and provided targeted input.
To clearly communicate both the biology and therapeutic differentiation in complex medical animations, we developed a multi-scale visual system that progresses from a simplified systemic view of IL-13 into detailed cellular and molecular interactions. A consistent visual language, supported by color coding, was used to distinguish IL-13, its receptors, and the therapeutic antibody, ensuring clarity as the animation moved from receptor binding to pathway inhibition. We further introduced focused molecular sequences to illustrate antibody internalization and FcRn-mediated recycling enabled by YTE modification, followed by integrated pharmacokinetic visuals to reinforce extended half-life and reduced dosing frequency, maintaining a cohesive and scalable visual framework throughout.
Outcome
The final animation clearly communicated IL-13–driven inflammation and how zumilokibart interrupts this pathway, combining molecular detail with accessible storytelling. It highlighted key advantages such as extended half-life and reduced dosing frequency, resulting in a versatile asset for scientific, investor, and stakeholder communication, supporting broader medical communication services.
