The new modules will have efficiency factors that surpass those of unifacial modules by 10% to 70% when installation is completed without additional construction and by 70% when reflectors and tracking systems are built. These modules transform direct sunlight as well as light reflected from natural surfaces or from specially built reflective elements into electricity. The module design is based on patented technology developed by Russian company Solar Wind and research and production company Kvark; the latter is a member-company of the Konti Group. The main production line for the new modules will begin operating in 2012. Full design capacity should be reached in 2015, bringing production to approximately 120 MW per year. At that level, the project’s annual sales are forecasted to be 11.4 billion rubles. RUSNANO will invest approximately 2.5 billion rubles in the project. The modules will be manufactured with silicon layers that are 20 nm to 80 nm thick, the ideal thickness for backside light sensitivity; the element itself will be transparent to infrared radiation with wavelengths exceeding 1,100 nm. The production costs for these modules are competitive with those for unifacial units. To fully exploit the advantages of bifacial solar elements, the project plans to develop the technology further and will also reduce the costs of production.

The Visual Science Company has cooperated with the RUSNANO Group since 2008, creating a wide range of high quality graphic information materials. Various infographics have been designed to demonstrate the technologies developed and implemented by RUSNANO project companies. The aim of each project is to demonstrate the principle of technology, nanotechnological components of the project and the advantages of the chosen solution compared with analogues.
The work of Visual Science is carried out in a single sheet or slide format. The modular structure of the infographics makes it possible to use it both as a whole piece or as separate components, which is convenient for preparing website illustrations or project reports or publications. Thus one material helps to solve almost all the issues with illustrating the information about the project.
The target audience for these graphics includes professionals in relevant areas, and a wide range of specialists in different fields without a technical background. Scientific accuracy, combined with the optimum degree of generalization allow for communicating equally effectively with target audiences with different background.
All the graphics have been used by the RUSNANO Group for 5 years or more. As usual, the feature of the Visual Science workflow includes the entire spectrum of tasks ranging from analyzing the scientific literature of the project to the preparation of the final graphics on the company’s side that allows saving valuable time of our customers.
Molecular modelling through computer graphics permits plenty of latitude for exercising artistic talent to inform, explain and instruct. Visual Science shows the way with its high quality, accurate, informative graphics that explain even the most complex processes of life.
